A few months ago a 13 year old boy, Danny Hauser, and his mother, Colleen, attracted national attention because the young boy did not want to go through chemotherapy again so they sought out alternative means which caused an uproar. Not sure where they were headed or what therapy they had in mind, but you can bet this mother was on the verge of having her son taken away if she didn’t comply with the court ordered treatment a judge ordered over the natural methods his family argued for.
Came across an update of Danny since then and how he was doing. He went through the conventional treatment process and it appears to be good news. Technicians at Abbott Northwestern Hospital targeted the radiation to the exact spot where a tumor once grew in Hauser’s chest.
Hauser stated that he should have had a choice from the beginning what to do. Colleen Hauser said
her family came together in support of Danny to help give him strength. He received radiation almost every day for two weeks and has finished the last of his 12 treatments and the doctors gave him a good prognosis saying the treatment was successful and that Danny has a 95% chance of being cured. If only they could send him home with some Vitamin B17, but Danny Hauser is happy it’s over.
It means a lot,” he said. “They don’t have to put poison into me anymore. They can leave us alone.”
The Hausers say they believe alternative therapies, including a special diet of mostly raw vegetables and vitamins, played a large role in Danny’s success.
“We kept his immune system built up so well that even the doctors are impressed that he did so well,” Colleen Hauser said. “we can get back to our normal lives, which is what we wanted so long ago. It’s nice.”
